Do I need a permit for the Classic Inca Trail?
▼Yes. Inca Trail permits are mandatory and limited to 500 per day (including guides and porters). We strongly recommend booking at least 4 to 6 months in advance, especially for the high season (May–September).
How difficult is the 4-day Inca Trail hike?
▼The trek is moderate to challenging. It covers 42 km (26 miles) over 4 days, with steep ascents, descents, and high altitude (up to 4,215m / 13,828ft at Dead Woman’s Pass). 💪 With proper acclimatization and preparation, most active travelers complete it successfully.
What should I pack for the Inca Trail?
▼We’ll send you a packing list upon booking, but essentials include: 🎒 Hiking boots, warm layers, rain gear, sun protection, water bottle, and personal medication. A duffle bag is provided for the porters to carry up to 7kg of your gear.
Is the Inca Trail open year-round?
▼No. The trail is closed every February for maintenance and conservation. The rest of the year it’s open, but availability depends on permits.
What if I have dietary restrictions?
▼We accommodate vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other special diets — just let us know in advance when booking.
